The Tour de France is heading towards the Alps this week and will showcase our beautiful Haute Savoie region over three Stages. Take particular note of Stage 19 on Friday the 22nd July when the Tour will pass through our village of Talloires on the Annecy Lake.
- Stage 18. 21st July. Time trial from Sallanches to Megève
- Stage 19. 22nd July. Mountain Stage from Albertville to St Gervais. Passing by Lake Annecy and through our village of Talloires before tackling the Col de La Forclaz
- Stage 20. 23rd July. Mountain Stage from Megève to Avoriaz passing over the Col des Aravis that divides the Haute Savoie from the Savoie.
Here is an avant-goût (taster) of the beauty that you will see. For more images of the village and the area do take a look at our personal site: https://lecormorantalloires.wordpress.com

The water of the lake is perfect for swimming, boating... |
What a gorgeous place! Just beautiful and so peaceful looking.
ReplyDeleteYou really must stop by on one of your trips !
DeleteStunning natural beauty, so well cared for by its inhabitants. I'll bet they are very careful not to let the lake get polluted. What a lovely acqua color it is. Wish I were there right now!
ReplyDeleteThe lake is spectacular and great care is taken to keep it's reputation of being one of the cleanest. In summer, it is wonderful for swimming, water-skiing, kayaking or just relaxing on its grassy 'beaches'. In winter, it is spectacular, too, with the boats covered in snow. But, for me, the fact that you can be in the middle of the lake and look up to the mountains around makes it even more incredible. Do come and visit!
DeleteReally loved the images Catherine, I've tried to post a comment before but it doesn't seem to have come through.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrea. France is a beautiful country.
DeleteAll the very best with the countdown to your forthcoming move.
Wow, you're right. The village and scenery are gorgeous. You must pinch yourself everyday that you live in the middle of a fairytale. I'll be watching the tour so wave at me!
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing along with Dreaming of France. Here’s my Dreaming of France meme
Ah Paulita. The thing is I'll be watching on my television too ... We couldn't quite organise to be in Talloires at the right time. Having lived there for several years with our children (the subject of my book 'But you are in France, Madame'), we had to return to Australia for a while. More on that next post ... Good luck with your recent novel.
DeleteThank you for another great article. Where else could anyone get that kind of information in such a perfect way of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I am on the look for such information.
